The More You See

October 1, 2008

Things You Stop Looking At, After Awhile:

1. the shape your teeth leave in bitten cheese
2. your partner’s eyes
3. simple furniture, like that little table you stuffed in the corner
4. screen savers and desktop backgrounds
5. the sky
6. how you look when you’re not wearing glasses

Things You Start Watching Instead:

1. your figure
2. your neighbours
3. the weather forecast
4. the past, the future
5. the sky
6. how your knuckles wrinkle when you flex your hands

    Mmmmmm I agree…also:

    Not Seeing:

    1. our own hair drifting across the floor

    2. what’s right in front of our faces

    Seeing:

    1. waning daylight as winter approaches

    2. our age, relative to famous new Hollywood/ TV stars (those kids on the new 90210? They were born after I finished high school!)
